ACOUSTIC MUSIC FOR YOUR
The Barrytones are:
Barry started his musical career playing the accordion at 6 years old. After failing to gain the groupies he desired, he began to play drums at the age of 7. He played drums in various bands throughout the 60’s and 70’s. He took up guitar and studied the catalog of his blues heroes: Muddy Waters, BB King, Freddy King, Eric Clapton and Jorma Kaukonen. His blues band, "The Midnight Blues Band" played gigs in the New York area, including The Elbow Room in NYC. His surf band "Strange But Surf" opened for "The B52s" at The Capitol Theater in Port Chester, NY.
Tony grew up with a castanets playing grandmother and an accordion playing uncle who made music nightly. At the age of 45, he started to play bass seriously. His bands “Three Simple Words” and “The Strange Houses Band” gave him a chance to explore music in several genres. In 1990 he had a terrible fight with a chop saw which took two of his fingers away. That didn’t stop his determination to play bass. He is thrilled to play acoustic music with The Barrytones.
